Chennai – The Queen of Coromandel

We live in Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu, which is considered as the nucleus of Dravidian Culture in India. Chennai was previously called as Madras. This is a metro city in India. We have been here for the last 5 years. We moved to Chennai when my husband got a nice working opportunity in a company over here. Even though this place is very much hot when compared to our native place, we started to love the people here because of the hospitality they shown to us. Chennai is a best place to settle down while considering the education of the kids as it is one of the best educational centre in India.

Welcome Your Visitors Warmly With Patio Furniture

One of the most important parts of our house is a space where your visitors can stay whenever they give you a visit. It must be a place where they can move freely and more comfortably and because they are guests, they deserved to feel like they are just in their own homes. That is also the reason why putting different kinds of patio furniture outside your house is also a must because that is a place where they can stay without feeling hot or uncomfortable so make sure that it will always look very welcoming and cozy. These patio furniture will surely let your visitors feel that they are special and are always welcome to your house.

Casual At Home

It was Friday and I had no plans at all for today. I woke up in my sleeping clothes, which consisted of gym shorts and a red shirt. My hair was all tangled up and I smelled of tobacco. After dropping off my brother at the bus stop, I took a nice hot shower and put on a new set of clothes which consisted of boxer shorts and an old casino shirt. Whenever I’m at home, I just put on anything that is comfortable, which are usually oversized shirts and sleeping shorts. However, when I go out, that is a different story. I usually get more dressed up in jeans and nice tops.

The Vanity of the Bathroom

The bathroom is not just a mere room where we can attend to our personal needs. The bathroom during the olden days was such a yawn. It was a traditional tiny room with 5 feet by 8 feet dimension. Today’ bathrooms are already made great sophistication. There are now lots of bath vanities. The bathroom is now converted in to a sun room, lounging areas, sauna and dressing room. It has indeed improved a lot. We are luckier nowadays because we have a bathroom though oftentimes we do not really give meaning to our bathrooms. Freshen up and enjoy the vanities of the bath.

Adjusting to A Simple Life

We ended up moving to a small town, but since everything is so much cheaper the farther away you move from town, we were able to afford to live on Main Street downtown in a building made during the year 1925. It’s beautiful here, and life is so simple. The town rolls up its sidewalks at 8pm every night except Sunday, when everything is closed. At first, it was really frustrating, but we learned to entertain ourselves. It’s actually been a really lovely exercise of patience and made me happier with the solitude.

Kentucky Experience

Two years ago, we went to Louisville, Kentucky for a long weekend. It was my birthday and we stayed in a historic Victorian bed and breakfast. Louisville has the largest collection of Victorian homes in the country and just being there is so breathtakingly relaxing with historic artefacts. We spent the weekend sleeping in and eating anything we wanted – it was really luxurious. We didn’t necessarily do anything; it was just the first time we’d been on vacation together. We did go to the Louisville Slugger factory and museum, and we saw Babe Ruth’s baseball bat. It was nerdy but I enjoyed it so much.
